The 5th Dimension, Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand, Petula Clark, Liza Minnelli, the Strawberry Alarm Clock, Three Dog Night and many others too numerous to mention.
The musical film soundtrack runs the gamut of rock rhythm and blues, rock to protest, to rockabilly, pop and even rock acid. It's the hippie theme that runs through the lifeblood of this music. The policy and reform social largely reflected in the letter. There was anger about being 'sold out' and betrayed by the U.S. government. This music Grammy was the voice of his time. Not everyone liked the production. John Lennon evaluation of music was "boring."
The Grammy Award-winning music, if not otherwise, caused much controversy. Was received so differently in different parts of society. The differences that define the 'hippies' long hair as they were hated by the mainstream middle class, successful people. They resented the hippies and their attitudes toward the social context that had been a part of the construction. And for any person to question American patriotism forced crazy. Long hair was a defining characteristic of the hippie openly. It was his 'flag' to to speak. It meant that he was willing to challenge and question the norm.
The musical film soundtrack was loaded with these lyrics rebel opponents of the establishment. Commissioning stage has long been regarded as un-filmable. But with the courage of Milos Forman who met with Gerome Ragni and James Rado, the transition from stage to screen was made. He soon became one of the most influential film events in the 70s. The Grammy Award-winning musical has not only made the film, but in honor its 20th anniversary, MGM Home Entertainment has made available on DVD.
A re-mixed the soundtrack for the Grammy-winning musical 'Hair' has been presented as a mixture of 5.1-channel Dolby Digital on the DVD. The soundtrack is clearer and cooler than ever. The work done by MGM was absolutely fabulous. The soundtrack musical theater is something that should be experienced by young and old alike.
