Is it just me or do other people have never seen the Broadway show Hairspray want to see it on DVD?

I've seen the movie Hairspray and I sincer I loved it and never seen sooo bad and I closed it and my question is: I only want it on dvd as they did in rent filmed on Broadway

this is the movie with the fat mother and child and the right of Zac Efron? I have no idea .. that movie is a bust ..
