Although he has lived much longer than anyone would really have a right to this king is terrified of death until point that he refuses to believe that the inevitable, at least initially.
Geoffrey Rush is brilliantly portraying the king, and doing a wonderful job of wear on frayed edges of his kingdom around him. Rush is an Australian Oscar and Emmy winning actor who has appeared in the plays of Shakespeare, who has also appeared in a number of works Broadway musicals and has a character in the movie also impressive repertoire. His film appearances include Captain Barbosa in Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy and Inspector Javert in Les Miserables. During his career he has won one Oscar, two Golden Globes, and a number of other major awards and nominations. Her awards also include a Academy Award and an Emmy Australia.
Susan Sarandon is looking next to Rush, in the role of his wife Queen Margaret, who is trying to push King in his grave, as he continues to try to prevent death. Sarandon incredible quality repertoire has remained largely in the movies, although she has appeared on Broadway once in An Evening with … Richard Nixon and a satyr play. Sarandon in the film is an Oscar winning actress with an Oscar for Best Actress, and several Emmy and Academy Award nominee name a few.
