How Good is Jersey Boys?

Current massive musicals such as Wicked, South Pacific and Jersey Boys have been some of the most successful musicals on Broadway ever. One of the newer ones, Jersey Boys has been overwhelmingly well received by the theatre-going public around the world. In 2004, Jersey Boys premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, CA and told the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. After a successful run, the musical moved to Broadway in 2005, and landed both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award. The following year, the Jersey Boys Tour took off at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre, and the show has since been incredibly successful on international stages.

This showis a mega hit musical that is the adaptation of another mega hit act i.e. The 4 seasons. the dominance on Broadway. Valli and Massi belonged to Belleville and Bronx respectively. This group of 4 belonged to the other side of the fence which they crossed and made it big in the arena.

They turned out consistent mega hits. In fact they can be legitimately labeled as a musical factory in themselves. They composed and planned their lyrics, sound and music all by themselves. To date they have sold more than 178 million records and they had broken several records even before they turned 30. Called the jukesicals, the Jersey Boys intertwine their biography and songs wonderfully that tells the rags-to-riches story of the 4 blue collared kids that were in search of stardom. The really comitted fans of this band go inside their shows and concerts knowing all their songs by heart. For them it’s a memory arousing drama about those wild youth times.

The gifted star cast that is featured by the play has made the Jersey Boy tickets a genre by itself. The task of Tommy DeVito has been played by Christian Hoff. Bob Gaudio is played by Daniel Reichard whereas J. Spencer and Lloyd also make their debut through this play. Despite the green cast they portray the occurrences of the Boys lives to perfection. The non-singing cast specifically Mark Lotitio can not be neglected due to his efficient performance in many roles.

The director for the show is Des McAnuff who has ‘The Who’s Tommy’ play to his credit.

The lighting of the play makes both the performance and the stage look fantastic and is the results of the hard work done by Howell Binkley. Michael Clark holds the accountability for the first projections. It is being superbly promoted by the producers, who are not only reaching to the precise Broadway audience but are also managing to reach out to the non-traditional Broadway audience due to the radio advertisements on the radio stations.

So what do the audiences have to say? One reviewer said that it was one of the best shows they had ever seen. “I couldn’t sit still in my seat, and wasn’t even aware at first that I was singing along, (and I knew all the words). Once the show got underway I was swept up and taken on a wonderful ride filled with incredible music and amazing performances. It all seemed to work together so well; the sets, the costumes, the choreography, the story. I have always enjoyed Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, but I didn’t own any recordings. After seeing this show, I am going to add them to my music collection, the music is timeless and it makes me feel so good. The only negative I can say about this show is that it ended.

Another reviewer said that it was a terrific show. ” The singing was phenomenal and the sound was great. All the actors that played the Four Seasons were great, but the guy who played Frankie Valli was phenomenal. The quality of their voices, how they turned up the volume on the sound and, to me, slightly increased the tempo, made the songs sound outstanding, better than Four Seasons CDs that I had had heard over the years. The songs were very well placed, but there was a real story and real dialog. I would highly recommend this show to anyone, no matter what age.”

You owe it to yourself to see this show and everyone should take the opportunity to have a great night out and see Jersey Boy tickets. Online tickets are available from many reputable sellers.

Peter Pan has a special place in the realm of classic animated Disney films: it instills an element of childlike wonder. The 1953 version of James M. Barrie’s story is colorfully told and keeps on the straight and narrow of the book. Barrie’s wondrous focus on child’s play is the key to its longevity: kids who don’t grow up, shadows that run away from their owners, pirates, a fairy, and the magic…

Charmless and dull, this adaptation of the Broadway hit stars Aileen Quinn as the depression-era moppet, Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks, Carol Burnett as the cruel headmistress at an orphanage, and Tim Curry as a villain. The film never gets its legs, and there is no sense of setting; it’s almost as if the whole thing is happening in a void. John Huston nominally directed–no doubt to make money …

Newsies

Newsies

$4.40

Arguably one of the oddest films to emerge from the modern Disney Entertainment empire, this scrappy 1992 live-action musical tells the tale of a turn-of-the-last-century labor uprising among New York City’s newsboys (or “Newsies”)–an especially ironic topic given the Mouse House’s own historical labor relations problems. It was also a valiant attempt to revive the glory days of the Hollywood mus…
