Why did Hollywood totally ruin the Percy Jackson series!?
They totally messed up the series! I know movies are never like the book, but they should have some similarities! This one was so different! They left out some very key parts! Did Rick Riordan tell them that they had permission to make the movie that way? I hope there won’t be another sequel.
Yes, Rick Riordan gave them permission: he sold them the rights to make the movie in whatever way they see fit. They could have turned Percy into a 40 year old man with a love of knitting and scrapbooking and Riodan couldn’t really do anything about it because he sold them the rights.
I’ve read the books and seen the movie and thought they were close-ish. Better then some book to movie fiascos (coughEllaEnchantedcoughcough)
Whenever going to see a movie based on a book you like, you need to leave your opinions on the book at the door. It is never going to be an ADAPTATION, it will be an INTERPRETATION. They are two different things. If you expect the movie to be an adaptation of the book, you will almost aways be disspointed. If you expect the movie to be a reimagining of the story, it will be much more enjoyable.
