Can you drive right up to the hollywood hills sign?

i am going to LA and wanting to take my picture in front of the letters of the hollywood sign. is it possible to drive up to it? do you have to hike up to it? are there lots of tourists up there? Thanks so much

No, you haven’t been able to legally access it for many years. When I was in high school we’d climb to it (we weren’t supposed to), friends lived quite close, but that was a looong time ago.
