Hair Broadway Musical

I need help! Gender?
Ok .. we are doing in school genre films. We have to choose any movie and tell why it belongs to a specific genre. Hair I'm doing (the adaptation of the Broadway musical) I know that this is a musical (obviously), but why? Please do not say, and to sing!
"The musical film is a film genre in which several songs sung by the characters are intertwined in the narrative. The songs have been used to advance the plot or character development of the film. A genre of musical film is a musical comedy, which includes a strong component of humor as well as the usual music, dance and history. The movie musical was a natural development of the music scene. In general, the major difference between film and stage musicals is the use of lavish background scenery which would be impractical in a theater. Musical films typically contain elements reminiscent of theater, performers often treat their songs and dance numbers as if a live audience watching. In a sense, the viewer becomes the audience deictic, as the artist looks at the camera and performs to it. "Musical theater is a form of theater combining music, songs, dialogues Spoken and dance. The emotional content of the piece – humor, pathos, love, anger – as well as history itself, is communicated through words, music, movement and technical aspects of the show as an integrated whole. Since the early 20th century, musical theater stage has generally been called simply "Musical." Musicals are performed around the world. They may occur in large venues such as big budget West End and Broadway theater productions in London and New York, or in small Fringe Theater Off-Broadway or regional productions, on tour, or by amateur groups in schools, theaters and performance spaces. Also of Great Britain and North America, there are vibrant musical theater scenes in many countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia. "Now all you have to do is test your movie fits into any of these definitions. Do they do in the film, as noted in the definition? If so, is a musical. Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery easy.

Godspell $4.68 Comparing Godspell to its near-contemporaries Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair is unavoidable, but Godspell has developed its own unique following. With their thrift-store-meets-circus-performer garb, the characters in David Greene’s adaptation of the popular off-Broadway production may look more like the hippies in Hair than the biblical personages of Superstar. But Godspell isn’t really about th… |

Hair $7.19 The Age of Aquarius is brought to life by the filmmaker who made Amadeus a household word. Milos Forman directed this version of James Rado, Gerome Ragni, and Galt MacDermot’s landmark musical in 1979 between his Oscar-winning films One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Amadeus. With mixed reviews (Gene Siskel named it that year’s best film) and lukewarm box-office grosses, the film all but disappea… |

Hair [Original Broadway Cast Recording] $6.26 “America’s First Tribal Love-Rock Musical,” went the advertising, and nobody could argue with that. Hair opened on Broadway in 1968 and immediately became a smash, although no one could quite discern what it was about. Something like, “War is bad, drugs are good, racism bites the big one, and nudity is nice.” Although all these sentiments are expressed on this album which, like the show, has not d… |

Hairspray: Piano/Vocal Selections $10.45 Hairspray is the latest feel-good Broadway blockbuster musical, based on the 1988 John Waters movie of the same title.
