Disney Broadway Musicals

Not the height of hypocrisy for someone to be anti-gay and still enjoy. . . ?

The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel? The Mona Lisa? The last dinner? Tchaikovsky ballets, including "The Nutcracker"? The architectural designs at Disneyland and Disney World? Broadway musical? And the movies Hollywood? Because without my fellow homosexuals, those things do not exist. What are your thoughts?

Yes, there is a certain amount of hypocrisy. I understand what some people are trying to say Hitler or Ted Bundy as an example of how one can be more disgusting human being, however, create a work of art. However, This argument is really weak, as you are comparing apples to oranges, ie the people you mentioned were not disgusting, they were gay (yes, Tchaikovsky was gay, and now believes he was forced to drink poison because it is so). As a musicologist, I would use two musical examples of the lyrics I think people are missing here. As a woman in what was a discipline dominated by men, who bore the brunt of sexism while plentiful, including an institution like UCLA. I also learned about of homophobia rampant in this area, even among homosexual teachers. What I realized is that these men were castrated as art has always traditionally regarded as feminine. Even her boss is a woman. Therefore, any thought of composers (almost always men, as women were forced to order the participation) of being gay is never fun – until recently (the last twenty years). It is now widely accepted that Schubert was gay, although some musicologists refused to accept the evidence. Schubert used to go out and get young people to gather. He describes it in a secret language, but very detailed in letters to his friends. Called adventures, real turkey hunting. As we all know, even today, the peacocks are birds that are hunted for sport of food, however, the renowned musicologist Charles Rosen vehemently argued that hunting peacock was literal. Why a man known and respected in your field say such ridiculous point? Because he did not want grant such grandeur of a gay man, plain and simple. This is hypocrisy true that people prefer the risk of reputation rather than giving credit where credit properly. The second point is the man of Richard Wagner. Most people recognize his name, as well as many of his works. He is a respected composer and was a being absolutely horrible human. He was a fanatic, anti-Semitic, sexist, and an extreme nationalist. However, most people do not separate this from his genius artist. Here is the hypocrisy of others in the arts, as a musicologist have tried to deny the homosexuality, but a blind eye to the truly atrocious beliefs and actions. Therefore, say that a work of art is also the product of the artist and the conditions under which the artist lived. Maybe being gay has nothing to do with that talent artist, but the denial their sexuality, and the danger in which they lived no doubt played a role in their production. I think that to enjoy a work of Schubert also to embrace his homosexuality. In addition, you can not look away when listening to Wagner, because his thought is also a contribution to his art. Do not listen to Wagner, but there have been many arguments why from a musical standpoint, but that's another topic all together. EDIT: OMG! I made a big mistake, I just corrected. Brahms wrote when I was referring to Schubert. I'm getting old.

Almost every tune in Mermaid has its (slightly inferior) counterpart in Beauty, fo…
