Is Hollywood originality dead, or almost dead?
In general, yes, but there are a handful of directors who are very creative and will continue to make good films for years to come. Darren Aronofsky, the Coens, Paul Thomas Anderson, Spike Jonze, and Chan-wook Park (Vengeance Trilogy) come to mind.
