Here are the details: Monday, September 24, 2007, 1:30-2:30 pm Roone Arledge Auditorium, Alfred Lerner Hall, 2920 Broadway, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Co-sponsored by the School of International and Public Affairs A keynote address followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Moderator John H. Coatsworth, Dean of the Faculty of International and Public Affairs Questions and Answers During the program, the cards will be distributed to audience members so they can submit questions for the speaker. If you could not join the event but still want to send a question, please email your question to worldleaders@columbia.edu with the subject "Question for the President of Iran. "Due to the large volume of questions we can not guarantee that yours will be read at the event.
I see people going to protest Ahmadinejad himself, but I do not see why people protest his appearance. We should be allowing you to speak, because that is what our country is and why our country is better than yours. We should be allowed to protest against what he says if we do not agree with him (which should be encouraged to protest), but it is a mistake to say not be allowed to speak.
