Tale of Two Cities Original Broadway Cast?
I recently saw A Tale of Two Cities the Broadway musical and thought it was absolutely phenomenal! Then he picked up The CD is available to buy inside the theater, only to discover that the CD I bought was not the original Broadway Cast that I saw recently! The songs were in the show not on the CD! I researched online and learned the story of two cities only musical CD that's the one I purchased! That there is no original cast recording of the program Current Broadway. Can someone please tell me what that is?
The recording I bought was a "concept" record, which often is made for a show before it has an output to give an idea of the potential producers of the series. At the time of recording, the song list probably different today. In pre-Broadway productions and previews of Broadway, the songs are often dropped, altered or added, so that the song list end is not really established until the show opens. There may be a plan to make a Broadway cast recording if the changes were significant enough.
