What Broadway musicals are playing in Los Angeles right now?

besides Wicked.

“Wicked” is currently playing in Los Angeles (at the Pantages) until 1/11/09 when it moves to San Francisco. Also you can see “The Drowsy Chaperone” at the Ahmanson (a lot of fun, especially if you love musical theater). Soon you can catch “9 to 5″ (based on the movie with music written by Dolly Parton) in its pre-Broadway run starting 9/21 (also at the Ahmanson).

BTW, although “Broadway” refers to a specific type of theater in NY, most people understand that a “Broadway show” is any show that has ever played on Broadway.

Peter Pan has a special place in the realm of classic animated Disney films: it instills an element of childlike wonder. The 1953 version of James M. Barrie’s story is colorfully told and keeps on the straight and narrow of the book. Barrie’s wondrous focus on child’s play is the key to its longevity: kids who don’t grow up, shadows that run away from their owners, pirates, a fairy, and the magic…

The hit Broadway musical by Peter Stone and Sherman Edwards became the basis for this 1972 film about America’s first congress and the nation’s declaration of independence from Britain. Most of the original cast members are aboard, including William Daniels as John Adams. The film is a little stodgy and moves stiffly from scene to scene–the adaptation to the screen is not a smooth success. But it…
