Marketing Tips for Actors – Where do I belong?
July is the month to find TAM market, so we have 4 weeks of marketing tips about it.
Part I – Focus on one thing
Part II-What is your niche / brand? What makes you unique?
Part III – What kind of role that more likely to be reserved?
Part IV – Should be more work?
The point behind the search its market is to make your career more successful and your life easier. Why fight? If you focus on only what he does best, and perfect, will develop a niche, a market entirely alone, for they are known. And that is the key to building a successful career.
Examples? – Robin Williams and Jerry Seinfeld made so much stand-up comedy for a number of years before being offered comedies which led to the movies available. His strength was comedy, but opened the door to surprising because it runs just focused on one thing until they were really excellent in that.
Bebe Neuwirth and Kristen Chenoweth are both singers / dancers, as well as good comedians. They reserved the Broadway shows that led to getting the job at sitcoms that led to where they are now, film and television. Some of the highest paid actors in New York and Hollywood began as a model or make announcements until they were really good at it and make a living working in the camera.
That ability led to getting the job at soap operas, primetime television and major motion characteristics.
Therefore, the trick here is Focus-Choose one thing (one of many talents, I'm sure) and do so repeatedly. If you spend your time and energy going in many directions, which grabs every audition for all in all the media trying to be just an actor "working" will probably succeed at just that, working …. But to succeed at their highest potential. Instead reduce choices in order of their priorities. What will make you very happy if you could be doing all day?
WARNING: If your answer is "What makes me the most money to buy a house for my parents, get an expensive car, you do not have a day job and buy a lot of great things! "- Think again. There are easier
forms get rich and build up a lot of things that do not struggle to be a movie star. What we do every day that inspires you, makes you happy – that's a successful career and life.
Answer these 3 questions and you must be clear that one thing.
1. What we do best? What do you like (or why you became an actor)?
2. How do you work the mainstream media now? (Theater, musical theater, commercial, during the day, prime time, film, voiceovers, comedy improvisation)?
3. Where do you feel more comfortable and conducting auditions? (On stage, in front of a camera in a recording studio with a band, a comedy club)?
OK, here's the follow through for one thing:
Make a list of the 3 media which loves to be working all the time. Then follow through with the number 1 on your list. He spends most of his time to learn the craft, studying with the top masters in the media, taking all courses and workshops with top teachers, turning to the theater or studying, learning, absorbing, meeting, networking, development of one thing: obsession with a 24 / 7. Breathe, live it, taste it, become a clone
teachers, see how they got there, ask questions, ask them to be of mentor, assimilate. No other profession demands so much commitment. Doctors, lawyers, business people, who
need education, training and have to work hard but do not have the same level of competition as you. They can get jobs right out of school has to fight, focus and be more favorable
hearing if you want to get just a little book, not even a full time job! And then you have to do it again the next day and the following to create a career. It's much harder for you.
But if you continue as before but, you know what will happen? You just settle for the "golden opportunity" opening door "to stimulate his career. Being around" big ", being in the right place at the right time with the right skill set is to create their own stroke of luck. Believe me, this happens!
Marketing Success!
