NYC questions about a visit in early December?
I'm going to New York in early December for business and pleasure. My wife is coming to long and want to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting. Does anyone have information or a link to when it will be lit? Also want to see a Broadway show or two and need recommendations. Finally, what should we wear clothing wise? How cold will it be?
If you want see the lighting ceremony in its own right, on December 2 at 7 pm. If you do not want to see the ceremony, just look for the tree itself, which is lit every day until midnight, just before I think. As for Broadway shows, arriving in December, the catch is one without any question of the "Christmas Spectacular" at Radio City Hall. Weather in December is likely to be in the area around 32F, which means to prepare for it being wet or snowy weather. Even if it does snow, so usually only ends up as dirty, wet sludge in the streets, in order to bring good shoes. You do not need winter boots, but at least something leather will not absorb water. As for clothes, the keyword for New York is always layers. It can be anything from a horrible cold to very hot, so bring clothes you can stack or take off, depending on the weather.

Their adaptation of the Ferenc Molnar play Liliom is marked by three especially sublime moments. “The Carousel Waltz,” Rodgers’s alternative to the traditional Broadway overture, serves as an orchestral b… |

Newsies (Collector’s Edition) $14.99 Except for feature-length animation, the musical has gone the way of the dinosaur. The Walt Disney company took a stab at reviving the live-action musical in 1992 with Newsies, a throwback picture with a curious subject.
