Broadway By The Year
What is the average income of a Broadway star?
How much a year ago? the frequency with which they work out of the year? ive number achieved by the week, but how many weeks a year work? what are your days like? this is my passion, be on Broadway, and being one of the actors most important in the work someday!
Broadway minimum of up to $ 1509.00 per week, so if you are lucky enough to land a spectacle Broadway, you stand to earn just under $ 80,000.00 this year. Beyond that depends on the contract. A tour of the production contract (1st national, etc) would also minimum Broadway, plus a housing allowance and per diem. A star of Broadway could do much, much more. The salary higher than I've heard of (on Broadway at least) was for the boy playing in The Phantom The Phantom of the Opera. He was supposedly pulling down $ 23,000.00 a week (not bad for 8 performances). This is far from the norm for actors, however, and the cost of living in New York, $ 80,000.00 does not take you as far as it might elsewhere. Most actors I know have a number of marginal jobs. Many tables to wait or catering. Be Some who work in real estate. At least when you get started, simply can not act. All this is much easier said than done, however.
