Teenagers and parents can hear the same music?
This is a difficult question to answer. I know I definitely like the different music then my teenagers do. I grew up in the age of the 70's disco with entertainment and games stacked shoes. My son loves hard rock music with heavy base deep. But we both like the music of Kelly Clarkson. But that's all and my daughter as completely different music.
Music is my daughter listens always depends on your mood. Some parents just hate to hear anything that your children like. The only thing my daughter and I can agree is on Broadway as musical "Mamma Mia." The best thing about music is that is the way to the 70 that I like. But other then that she will listen to what's hot the time does not include jazz, blues, or leave the country.
Being able to support my children's music style can be very difficult over time, especially when you want the sound of loud explosions from their rooms. My son will always have the very heavy base, and sometimes shakes the house or car and have to say that lower the volume and base. If you've heard heavy music based on other vehicles at a traffic light then you know what I mean. I think all parents expect their children to grow up him off at some point in their life.
There will always be one or two songsw that parents and children will love together. But most of the time will in two different ends of the spectrum of styles. I've seen over the years with my parents who grew up in the 50s and a grandmother who loved Lawrence Welk.
I think every generation has its own style of music they like. Over time the most creative and lyricist to write songs that we have never heard before. Even when the musician to write a new piece, his parents probably would not like the style of music, as it will be very different then what they are accustomed to hearing especially if the piece is strong.
Perhaps the only style of music of the parents and the children together is like gospel. Most children and parents I can agree that this type of music when it is uplifting and spiritual. This kind of music can contribute more to the family. Parents and children can, as that music itself, but on a very limited basis.
