New York police take out the trash, that's why crime has fallen in the city?
A police sergeant shot and killed a man during an armed confrontation at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square Thursday morning, police said. The suspect, who is in his 30s, was flown in the torso approximately 11:15 am A second man was arrested, but not hurt. The sergeant, who is assigned to the Midtown South Precinct and works in a record deal with street vendors, it was not wounded. The patient was treated for trauma. The sources said the sergeant, who wore his uniform, shot the gunman after the suspect fired his own gun. It was not immediately clear if he was shooting at the sergeant or someone else. Police recovered a semi-automatic pistol from the scene – a car park at the hotel in West 46th St., just off Broadway.
