Clothing appropriate for The Lion King on Broadway?

Going to see the Lion King on Broadway in New York. It's my first time seeing a Broadway show in New York or for that matter. I have read that clothing varies from show to show, as well as time, but I have not heard much of the Lion King … I'll go at night, on December 26 and probably walk to our hotel, so I do not want to be cold. I was thinking of taking black leggings, a style babydoll minidress dark purple, pretty white sweater, black ballet flats, and either a nice scarf / long pearl necklace. Would it be too informal? I like to dress up, but I prefer not to freeze …. I have 15 for sure. Thank you very much! =)

sounds like a beautiful machine. people do not dress for the theater more. still do at the opera or other events at Lincoln Center, but not for B'way. Have a great time … FYI, black floors could not be a good idea if there is snow / sleet still on the ground that it is a possibility that we had two small systems of snow coming through .. so I could bring something more practical work with the team just in case ..
